A celebration of falling in love, the "Neruda Series" was created shortly after I met Raymond. Colorful feathers, carved wood and layered stains - each is a detailed little treasure. Twelve mini reliquaries, each named from lines in Neruda’s poetry, only a few remain from this very popular series. Influenced by Native American feather baskets seen in the Denver Art Museum a few winters ago, the niches are “feathered” with real feathers. My obsession with old barbwire continues to weave itself into the art along with a life-long fascination with animal skulls.
