About Me
Fueled by adventure both inside and outside the studio, I scare myself and inspire others as I express and explore life as an artist, speaker and writer.
Current Events
I recently became the first woman to carve in the country of Bhutan when His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay the Prime Minister asked me to create an artwork in a retreat palace for their revered king.
My Inspiration
I have experienced spiritual epiphanies in nature-made cathedrals while adventuring and living in the mountains. Moments of soul-bearing insight have come to me bereft of pomp…totally unexpected. I want to share those heart-split-wide-open moments and bring a bit of Mother Nature’s grandeur and grace to people.
In the Studio
Sculpting, drawing, painting, playing...I have an innate knack for materials and tools.
Speaking
I absolutely love connecting to a crowd, young or old, small or large. When I share an intimate look into the trials and triumphs of life on the edge (pushing my limits artistically, physically, mentally, and spiritually) - magic happens. My hope is to offer helpful insights to shift attitudes and positively influence anyone’s ability to deal with the challenges life inevitably presents.
A few Kudos
Selected by WOOD magazine for their short list of “America’s Woodworking Greats” I have also been featured on the “Wood Sculpting” TV series produced by DIY, the Oxygen Network “Pure Oxygen” episode about “Fearless Women produced by Oprah and a documentary series by Nestbox Collective. My healing art sculpture installation was voted “Top 25” out of 1500 artists from 53 countries at Art Prize in 2014.
About my home
I live a storied life at the end of a road near the top of a mountain in Montana. My commute to work is a walk with my dog from our cozy cabin through the woods to my studio.
